The procedure includes:
Once it has been established that ClearCorrect is the right treatment option for you, the dentist will take impressions, photos, and x-rays of your teeth that will be sent to a ClearCorrect manufacturer along with a prescription. The prescription will detail the type of treatment and the specifics of what is required for your case. The ClearCorrect manufacturer will first make a computer model of your teeth and chalk out the entire treatment plan using a special software. The plan will show the expected results of each set of aligners and how the treatment will progress. The treatment plan will be emailed to you. At this point if you have any questions or need any changes made you can contact your dentist or the manufacturer.
Next, your first set of ClearCorrect aligners will be manufactured and sent to you. The aligners will be made from clear plastic which will fit perfectly over your teeth. The thin, transparent aligner is almost invisible and is barely noticeable to others. The aligner can easily be removed when eating and when brushing and flossing your teeth. For the rest of the time, which should be at least twenty two hours of the day, the aligner should be worn. The length of time the aligner needs to be worn will be determined by your individual case and needs. During this time it will put pressure on targeted teeth and shift their position slightly. After the aligner has moved your teeth to their desired position, a new set of aligners will be sent to you as per your dentist’s specifications. The treatment usually lasts for about four phases over the course of one year.
At the end of the first set of treatments the dentist will decide if you require to continue the treatment further or if is complete. Once the desired results have been achieved from the treatment, your dentist will move on to the next phase of the clear aligner therapy. When the treatment is complete you will be required to wear a retainer for a while to help the teeth set in their new position. A retainer will prevent the teeth from going back to how they were before treatment and the dentist will instruct you on how long it needs to be worn.
Though the normal set of ClearCorrect treatments extends over a year, in 2-3 week wear phases, certain cases might need longer treatment. ClearCorrect offers a few different treatment plans to cater to specific needs. The plans include: Unlimited: This is the top tier of all plans and allows you to continue receiving the aligners for as long as you need them. This plan works best if treatment is expected to carry on for well over a year Limited 12: This plan provides you with twelve aligners during the course of your treatment Limited 6: This plan provides you with six aligners during the course of your treatment The length of time the aligner needs to be worn will be determined by your individual case and needs. During this time it will put pressure on targeted teeth and shift their position slightly. After the aligner has moved your teeth to their desired position, a new set of aligners will be sent to you as per your dentist’s specifications. The treatment usually lasts for about four phases over the course of one year.
